Muffin Art
I read Danny Gregory's book 'Creative License' after I'd been ill for a while and wanted to pick up the pencils but was still too scared. One of the exercises in there was to draw a bagel, to really observe while you moved your pen across the page, marking every little dent, seed or similar that you see.
I chose to do this activity, not with a bagel, but with a Caramel Crisp from my local Costa Coffee (a place I have spent a large amount of time in, since I stopped work). Then I also repeated it with the Gingerbread Muffin... rather pleased with both actually.
Now bear in mind it takes between 25 minutes to an hour to draw each cake, patience and a decent coffee is required. The reward is in the eating.
